One of my favorite new blogs to follow is Hello It's Valentine. Valentine is a stylish French girl who wears ribbons and florals well, often while riding a vintage bicycle and generally excuding charm...basically if you read her blog long enough you just want to run away to France and steal her life! Valentine was kind enough to let me interview her in the form of planning her dream party.
What type of party is it?
A disguised tea-party (I'm not a night girl).
Who's invited?
Who's invited?
Frida Kahlo since she was a real party girl, Lewis Carroll for "Alice" books, sir Paul McCartney, Olsen Twins so I can chat with them about fashion, Coco Rosie's sisters....and blogger friends!
Where does it take place?
Where does it take place?
It takes place at a cottage (since I'd love living in a cute cottage in England), with a garden, flowers, a veranda, (winter garden) and a cosy living-room with a chimney.
What are you serving?
What are you serving?
Cupcakes (of course), scones, fairy cakes, muffins, tiny sandwiches, Darjeeling tea in several teapots--and a dormouse would be asleep in one of them!
Who would get to sit next to you?
Who would get to sit next to you?
Frida Kahlo, because I love her; she was so charismatic and beautiful. But also we're all seated all around a circle table.
What is the theme?
What is the theme?
Everyone is wearing something on the theme "polka dots." That would be really photogenic, and totally mad--all those dots and colors on each guest!
Is there a special play list or entertainment?
Is there a special play list or entertainment?
To begin, a Mexican Mariachi band would play the guitar and after that we'd all dance to The Beatles, The Kinks, Canned Heat, Otis Redding, Bary White...Good music only!!!
What are the hot topics of the evening?
What are the hot topics of the evening?
Fashion, music (McCartney would tell us some secret about his past gigs with The Beatles), painting, photographs, mad stories. A fun and creative time with interesting people.
Who is the most likely to get drunk and dance on the table?
Who is the most likely to get drunk and dance on the table?
No one would be drunk, I don't like drunk people; they often ruin the good atmosphere...
Who is the last to leave?
