To Catch A Thief is one of Hitchcock's lighter masterpieces; ornately costumed on the sunny French Riviera the film is full of quiet visual and verbal quips. Cary Grant stars as John Robie, a reformed jewel thief opposite of Grace Kelly playing American socialite Frances Stevens. Robie narrowly eludes the police while trying to catch a new thief imitating his old style all the while flirting with Frances, looking dapper, and attending costume parties.
