These pictures were snapped during a visit to Virginia to see my parents--their backyard has the prettiest autumn color I've seen this fall. Characters in a film a couple of years ago kept asking each other, "have you gone to see the color?" What they were refering to was people leaving the city to go see the changing fall scenery somewhere. I really like that idea though; taking a trip, an intentional drive just to seek out the prettiest scenery you can find. It seems like it would be a good investment of your time, provided you do have the free time for a brief road trip. Of course some people like my parents just have to look out their back windows...
