The pictures I took earlier this week (shared on Wednesday) were taken in between and during spats of drizzeling rain.
It wasn't hard rain so I soldiered on taking pictures until it grew heavier and then I covered my equipment with my coat and found shelter for myself under a nearby tree until the weather improved. There's been a lot of those rain clouds overhead lately (it's why Ireland is so lush and green), so it was fitting when a sunny afternoon finally arrived that I was dressed in this festive outfit that feels like a walking picnic. Gingham and check prints always remind me of picnics in the summer, even when they're in the form of a dress rather than a blanket. And you can carry a basket for your valuables ala Jane Birkin if you really want to sell the picnic look! This look felt like a mini celebration of all things summery and sunny and really, we should try to celebrate the little things--like a bright afternoon and a few fading sunflowers...
