“Isn't pink the most bewitching color in the world? I love it, but I can't wear it. Redheaded people can't wear pink, not even in imagination.” -Anne Shirley
As much as I regard Anne Shirley (with an "e") to be an expert on most things, this is one subject which we don't see eye-to-eye on. Redheads not being able to wear pink, or red, is a very persistent myth. It's funny how other myths die, but fashion myths and rules persist. As much as I don't like this particular fashion rule, it is one I let affect me too often. Frequently I find myself looking at colors that are supposedly more flattering for my coloring (like green or purple) and attempt to wean down the pink and red in my closet...But then I see a pink dress I really like (such as this Unique Vintage Hamilton design) and I can't resist. Because in the end if the day I like clothes that make me feel good rather than look my supposed best. Where's the fun in listening to fashion rules when they keep you from wearing things you like? For whatever reason, I feel good in pink; better in pink than I feel in green and I really don't like wearing purple! So perhaps a pink dress clashes a bit with red hair, but it has yet to cause me to burst into flames, so I guess redheads can wear pink...
