While September is no doubt the busiest month on an apple farm, May is probably the loveliest. The trees all blossom in a delicate shade of pink that fades to white and the petals drift as gently in the breeze as cherry blossoms. The blossom is very fleeting; it's basically at its peak for less than a week and then it starts to fade and the green starts to dominate again. Living in the heart of orchard county means enjoying this brief moment is easy; we have apple orchards on our doorstep and Thomas's family's farm is only a five minute drive away. I knew this Mata Traders dress would look lovely with the pale pink blossom, but I really lucked out with sunshine and temperatures over the weekend that meant it was actually appropriate to be wearing a little summer dress and jean jacket! I've worked with Mata Traders before and they're a really cool ethical fashion company so I'm excited to be featuring a dress from their new spring collection. All of their clothes and accessories are fair trade and made by artisans in India and Nepal. I couldn't resist the big pockets on my dress (which is on sale right now) but you can also find this fabric in another dress style and a skirt.
