One of the best parts of being on holiday in Hawaii was the clothes. I mean, I am a fashion blogger after all--clothes are kind of big deal to me. When it's autumn I'm usually eager for tights and tweed and don't mind bundling up. But come April I am so, so ready to shed my layers when usually my local weather calls for a continuation coats and wellies. So taking off to Hawaii was like hitting the refresh button style-wise; balmy temperatures makes dressing easy and the lush surroundings offer a fresh jolt of inspiration. Bright colors, bare feet or espadrilles suddenly make perfect sense and it's the finer details that set one dress apart from another. When browsing Lulus vacation dresses a few details quickly stood out to me--tie details and buttons. Without even intending it, every dress I got had one or both of those details. I love the way the tie sleeves on this classic red dress make it something special, whereas a tie front adds extra sass to a gingham mini that might otherwise be forgettable, and contrasting buttons added personality to a simple linen, white dress. When it comes to holiday dressing and summer styles it's all about those details for me; as clothes become simpler and layers nonexistent it's about finding something special in each piece that keeps it from being basic. What details are you loving for spring and summer?
